Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor George Chrystal, Secretary of the Royal Society of Edinburgh Harrison's delay in replying to Chrystal's letter about taxation of societies was due to the fact that he did not have time to look up the references sooner. Gives Chrystal details of law surrounding the exemption from inhabited tax duty, Income Tax and liability of scientific societies to local rates. Harrison explains he resides on the second floor above the Library, and has his own private door and hall and staircase to his rooms. The Housekeeper resides downstairs. 10 November 1909
