"I would be glad to receive by return mail a copy of the Report of the Malta Fever Commission presided over by Col Sir David Bruce, RAMC.
If you send a note of the charges for same to my father John Cairns, Askbank, Ryedale, Maxwelltown, Dumfries, Scotland, he will forward same by return and thus save any possible delay.
I require the Report in connection with a Thesis on Malta Fever which I am preparing and which should be ready in October.'
