  <dc:description>'Dear Sir,
With reference to your paper on "Some observations upon the anomalous behaviour of delivate balances" etc, I am directed to inform you that the Committee of the Royal Society are prepared to advise its publication in the "Philosophical Transactions", but before doing so I am to suggest that it might with advantage be modified in accordance of high authority on this subject. To his opinion the Committee attach much weight and I am therefore returning your paper and illustrations in order that you may carry out his suggestions, if you accept them.'</dc:description>
