<dc:title>Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor Joseph Ernest Petavel, Fellow of the Royal Society</dc:title>
<dc:description>Professor Gibson's paper on the the 'Flow of water through pipes and passages having divergent boundaries', which Petavel communicated a month ago, has been under consideration by the Physics and Chemistry Committee. They decided that as presented the paper is not suitable for publication by the Royal Society, but an abstract of about half the length would be acceptable. The author is not willing to do this, and expresses preference for publishing elsewhere. Harrison has been directed to suggest that the paper be withdrawn.</dc:description>
