<dc:title>Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to [Walter John] Hartley, 65 Hamilton Terrace, N.W.</dc:title>
<dc:description>On return from holiday on Satuday Harrison read with very great regret his letter announcing the death of his father, Sir Walter Noel Hartley, which will be reported to Council when they return. His question regarding instruments which were places in Sir Walter's hands, presumably by the Government Grant Committee, shall be gone into.

Harrison has a sense of personal loss in the death of Hartley's father which he should like to express. He was one of Sir Walter's students at King's College as long ago as 1875 and had maintained friendly relations with him ever since. The news of his death has come to Harrison as a painful surprise.</dc:description>
