<dc:title>Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Dr Gilbert, Fellow of the Royal Society</dc:title>
<dc:description>Rix is instructed to inform Gilbert that his request, on behalf of himself and Sir J B Lawes, to purchase certain parts of 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society' at a reduced price, was considered at the previous week's meeting of Council. The decision was to allow Gilbert to purchase up to 75 copies of 'Philosophical Transactions' 1859, part 2 at 12 shillings and six pence, and up to 100 copies of 1861 part 2 at seven shillings and six pence. If Gilbert decides to purchase them, he should inform Rix whether he prefers them in sheets or stitched.</dc:description>
