<dc:title>Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to L C Lindsay, Victorian Exhibition, 121 Regent Street, W.</dc:title>
<dc:description>In answer to Lindsay's letter of 12 October, Rix is able to tell him that his application for the loan of portraits was brought before the President and Council of the Royal Society at their recent meeting, but he is to inform him that the Society do not lend any unglazed portraits. Unfortunately, only one of the five Lindsay has requested is protected by glass, namely that of James Prescott Joule. However, the Council have decided to get some more portraits glazed for the occasion, and once they have decided which ones, Rix will be able to inform him which of the requested portraits can be lent.</dc:description>
