The statement which you supplied recently showing salary, &amp;c, received by you, and hotel and petty expenses incurred in the prosecution of the Magnetic Survey work, has been examined and found correct, to within a shilling or so, undercast, but in your favour. 
The amount to be charged against the Society stands at £645.17.3; the sum paid out was £620, leaving a balance due to you of £25.17.3. 
I enclose a cheque for £25.17.3 in discharge of our obligation. Kindly return the accompanying form of receipt.'
