<dc:title>Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society to Dr Charles Sissmore Tomes FRS</dc:title>
<dc:description>'I received last week your request, dated January 11th, for the re-suspension of Mr Mummery's certificate of candidature for the Royal Society' but I am sorry that it is out of my power to act upon it; the regulation prescribing the 31st December as the last day for sending in such requests being strictly enforced and all applications for a relaxation of it having been hitherto refused by the Council. Several such cases have occurred in past years, and so exception has been made.'
