Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society to Professor Professor Edmund Taylor Whittaker FRS 'I regret to say we do not trace any series of MSS of Colin MacLaurin's among our Archives. It seemed likely we might have such, as we have a collection of Brook Taylor's, his contemporary, but we don't find any papers or notes printed in the Phil[osophical] Trans[actions], but I think that is not quite what you wanted. I should think it might be advisable to enquire at the British Museum, whether a number of Royal Society XVIIIth century papers gravitated, especially among the Sloane and Birch MSS. There are also the Ffolkes papers, but they are not at the Museum.' 28 May 1915
