<dc:description>'The President and Council at their meeting last week passed the following resolution with regard to the Radium Research Fund:-
Resolves:- That a the request of Sir Ernest Rutherford £100 of the unexpanded balance of £504.1.5, which was by resolution of Council on March 19, 1914, to be spent in the purchase of mesothorium and placed in Sir Ernest Rutherford's hands, be handed to Prof E Marsden of Victoria College, Wellington, for the purchase of radium, on the understanding that the radium so purchased remains the property of the Royal Society.
I am accordingly forwarding a draft for £100 made payable to bearer so that you can place it to your own account and get your bankers to send a proper draft to Prof E Marsden in New Zealand.'</dc:description>
