<dc:title>Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society; to Sir Thomas Edward Thorpe, FRS; Whinfield, Salcombe, Devon</dc:title>
<dc:description>Reply to an earlier enquiry from Sir Thomas Edward Thorpe on the [Charles] Mason and [Jeremiah] Dixon work. Relays a message from Mr. White, that the work Sir Thrope asked after is probably the Transit of Venus as observed by Mason and Dixon at the Cape in 1761. States that any further pursual of this enquiry will be difficult as the archives are currently locked in the cellar for the period of war. </dc:description>
