Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society to Sir Joseph Larmor FRS 'A paper by Sir Francis Darwin on "The relation between transpiration and stomatal aperture" has been referred to a botanical referee, a copy of whose report is enclosed. In view of the referee's criticism, the Chairman of the Botany Committee (PRof Farmer) suggests that you should be asked to look over the paper; but before troubling you with it I should be glad to know whether you are prepared to give an opinion on the points raised in the referee's report.'
