Copy letter from James Hopwood Jeans, Secretary of the Royal Society; to Sir Dugald Clerk, Chairman of the Applied Sciences Committee and FRS Informs Sir Dugald Clerk that a long paper from the Ordnance Committee on Aerodynamics, 'Shell fire by 3 inch guns', has been received. Explains that there are two existing referee reports on the paper which are completely at odds with one and other, and the Society has been asked to nominate a third referee to settle the matter. Suggests Professor [Horace] Lamb and asks for Sir Clerk's approval. 16 March 1920
