<dc:title>Copy letter from James Hopwood Jeans, Secretary of the Royal Society; to Sir Joseph [John] Thomson, President of the Royal Society</dc:title>
<dc:description>Informs Sir Joseph John Thomson that the Secretary of the Government Fund has insisted that if the Society desire to have a dinner for the Catalogue Delegates, a list of the guests must be sent at once. Suggests that, under the circumstances, it seems undesirable to proceed with the Dinner. Suggests instead arranging a semi-private dinner when the number of guests is finally known.

[Memorandum attached indicating that this was also sent to Sir David Prain, Sir Arthur Schuster, Professor Henry Edward Armstrong, Dr. Peter Chalmers Mitchell and Dr. Francis Arthur Bather.]</dc:description>
