Copy letter from James Hopwood Jeans, Secretary of the Royal Society; to Sir Dugald Clerk, Chairman of the Engineering Sciences Committee and FRS Informs Sir Dugald Clerk that the paper by Taylor Jones, Morgan and Wheeler has been heavily criticised for not throwing any light on the problem of the ignition of explosive mixture of gases and for focussing too heavily on simple calculations of the distribution of heat. Reminds Sir Clerk that, since the paper has not been read, it is open to him to withdraw it. 16 September 1921
