<dc:title>Copy letter from James Hopwood Jeans, Secretary of the Royal Society; to Sir [Thomas] Edward Thorpe, FRS</dc:title>
<dc:description>Refers to the paper by A. R. Ling and D. R. Nanji, 'The action of ammonia and of amino-compounds on reducing sugars', that Sir [Thomas] Edward Thorpe communicated to the Society. Explains that, in light of Professor Ling's comment that he would rather withdraw the paper than shorten it to half its length, the [Chemistry] Committee thought it best to get a second opinion, however, that this was also adverse. Notes that it is unlikely the Committee will do anything now other than decline to recommend this paper for publication. </dc:description>
