<dc:title>Copy letter from William Bate Hardy, Secretary of the Royal Society; to [A. L.] Hetherington [Secretary of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research]</dc:title>
<dc:description>Informs [A. L.] Hetherington that the 'A' Committee recently met for the first time with Associaiton of British Manufacturers [to discuss ideas for the science exhibit of the British Empire Exhibition]. Notes that it was clear from this meeting that the matter is 'rapidly getting out of hand', and the existence of the Society's Committee has not been acknowledged by management. Proposes sending the enclosed letter to the Exhibition Authorities and asks whether Hetherington agrees [not enclosed]. </dc:description>
