Copy letter from Charles [Scott] Sherrington, President of the Royal Society; to the Honourable Sir Arthur Stanley [Eddington], GBE, FRS Informs Sir Arthur Stanley [Eddington] that the Council has considered Eddington's letter of 13 October, and have agreed on two points: a scientific committee would form an integral part of Eddington's organisation, and that this organisation's powers and constitution should be discussed at a meeting between Sherrington, Eddington and Lord Goschen - but matters at issue have already been settled without this meeting being called. Explains the Royal Society's conditions for accepting its share of responsibility for this organisation: 1. All matter issued to the public bearing the Royal Society's name must first be submitted to the scientific advisory committee; 2. A majority of the scientific advisory committee's members should come from the Royal Society and the Medical Research Council; 3. No scheme of research is to be proceeded without the approval of the scientific advisory committee and confirmed by the approval of the Grand Council. 13 November 1923
