<dc:title>Copy letter from James Hopwood Jeans, Secretary of the Royal Society; to [Sydney] Chapman, FRS</dc:title>
<dc:description>Updates Sydney Chapman on 2 matters; that [George Neville] Watson has reported favourably on S.F. Grace's paper 'A spherical source in a rotating liquid' with only 2 or 3 minor criticisms, and states it will be published if [Geoffrey Ingram]Taylor approves. Informs that [Thomas Henry] Havelock has sent in a paper 'Optical dispersion and selective reflection, with application to infra-red natural frequencies', which James Hopwood Jeans finds interesting and agreeable despite the use of old Lorentz dispersion formula. States that [John William] Nicholson reported on the last paper by Grace, but as he keeps paper for a long time requests Chapman to suggest another referee, have Chapman read through the paper himself or pass it under Standing Order 43 straight away.</dc:description>
