<dc:title>Copy letter from James Hopwood Jeans, Secretary of the Royal Society; to [Robert John Strutt] Lord Rayleigh, FRS</dc:title>
<dc:description>Writes to Robert John Strutt about 4 publications; agrees with the point of Strutt on the paper 'The behaviour of gases in contact with glass surfaces' by [D. H.] Bangham and [F. P.] Burt and will write to [Harold Baily] Dixon accordingly. Recalls that the 2 referees [Herbert Brereton] Baker and [Francis William] Aston were in disagreement, and that the decision of the Council must be upheld; informs that the paper 'Gaseous Combustion at High Pressure' by [William Arthur] Bone to Dixon and writing in the manner agreed upon; asks if the new paper 'The Band Spectrum of Potassium' by Grayson Smith, sent in by McLennan should be sent to [Ralph Howard] Fowler or not, as James Hopwood Jeans estimates the measurements and conclusion to be inaccurate; also sends Miss [Kathleen] Yardley's paper on 'The crystalline structure of succinic acid' as requested.</dc:description>
