Siebs Esq., Padang, Sumatra, Dutch East Indies [Indonesia] Informs of the [Sumatra Ethnological Expedition] Committee's decision to send an expert naturalist and ethnologist to Sumatra to investigate the existence of a previously unknown ape ["orang pandak", "orang pondak" or "orang pendek"]. Forwards the Committee suggestion to gain the permission of the Government of the Netherlands in writing. Lists 9 questions on which Siebs' advice will be sort; includes best port of entry into Sumatra, approximate journey times, appropriate gear, where it can be brought and cost thereof, accommodation in the area of investigation; transport and if a written permission can be gained from the Government of the Province of Bencoolen [Bengkulu, Sumatra, Indonesia]. 11 February 1924
