<dc:title>Copy letter from James Hopwood Jeans, Secretary of the Royal Society; to Prof. [Sydney] Chapman</dc:title>
<dc:description>Informs that 3 new papers have arrived for Chapman's committee. 1: 'On the possible ellipticity of Saturn's ring' by G. R. Goldsbrough, communicated by T. H. Havelock. Asks if it should be published or sent to a second referee following a favourable report by Sampson. States Sampson has also been asked to decide whether it should be printed in Proceedings or Transactions. 2: Asks Chapman to look through the paper 'Periodicity and the periodogram' by G. T. Walker, [FRS]. This paper of which has been forwarded by [Arthur] Schuster. Asks for a referee suggestion for 'Electrodynamics of the bohr atom' by D. N. Mallik, communicated by Larmor. Larmor states in a covering letter that he knows nothing about Quantum Theory and Jeans is critical of the article.</dc:description>
