<dc:title>Copy letter from James Hopwood Jeans, Secretary of the Royal Society; to [Robert John Strutt] Lord Rayleigh, FRS</dc:title>
<dc:description>Informs [Robert John Strutt] Lord Rayleigh, on 4 matters. 1: That Merton has reported favourably on the paper 'Absorption and dispersion of Thallium vapour' by A L Narayan, [D Gunnaiya and K Rangadhama Rao], but suggests a correction in the identification of impurity lines. Jeans returns the letter [not enclosed] to ensure this change can be done. 2: That Jeans will act in accordance to Strutt's instruction in regards to the papers by P.A.M. Dirac and D.R. Hartree, and the paper by N.K.Adam and J.W.W. Dyer [to have them published straight away] 3: Suggests circularising the Physics Committee to publish the paper 'A self -contained standard harmonic wavemeter' now that Dye has made the improvements. Asks Strutt to approve the draft letter attached [not enclosed]. 4: Asks Strutt to look through, or send the paper to Chapman, a paper about the existence of solid nitrogen in the upper atmosphere, by Atkinson, which the communicator, Lindemann is anxious to have published as soon as possible.</dc:description>
