<dc:title>Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Michael Foster</dc:title>
<dc:description>[First paragraph copy typescript very faded] Rix has received a letter from the Foreign Office concerning assistance for the eclipse expedition, which has been sent to Mr Common, who will return the items in time for Council.

Dr Glaisher brings a serious charge against Hermite and Rix should think it is a question whether the Royal Society should be represented [at Hermite's forthcoming 70th birthday celebration]. Rix has sent Glaisher's letter to Sir A Geikie with the request that he will if necessary consult the other Officers before sending his letter to Professor Greenhill.</dc:description>
