Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Andrew Ainslie Common, Fellow of the Royal Society Encloses a letter 40139/434 from the War Office respecting Sergeant Keerney, and thinks the letter to which this is a reply was not written at the instance of the Royal Society's Council and therefore, it will probably not be necessary to bring it before them, nevertheless Rix asks it to be returned by Thursday so that he can lay it before the Officers if required. 17 January 1893
