Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Captain William de Wiveleslie Abney, Fellow of the Royal Society Rix thinks Abney suggested the name of Mr Ives as an exhibitor at the forthcoming Soirée. The Soirée Committee deemed doubtful about the advisability of asking Ives to exhibit and desired Rix to make further enquiries from Abney as to what would probably be the nature of his show. 19 May 1893
