<dc:title>Copy letter from Francis Alexander Towle, Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society; to T. C. J. Elliott Esq., Peterborough</dc:title>
<dc:description>Regrets to inform that not much information can be found on the Fellow John Landen as he died before Obituary Notices were written. States the Royal Society has no portrait of him but does have papers by him. Informs that Poggendorff's 'Bibliographical Dictionary' refers to Chalmer's 'General Biographical Dictionary 1812-17' as a source but the Library does not have a copy. </dc:description>
