Copy letter from Francis Alexander Towle, Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society; to J. Drummond Robertson Esq.; Comrie Lodge, Torquay In further reference to J. Drummond Robertson's enquiry about the Fromanteel clock, quotes a passage from Birch's History of the Royal Society volume one which mentions the clock being given as a gift and being set up in Gresham College and Crane Court. Informs him that it must have passed out of the Society's collection, probably around their move to Somerset House in 1780. 11 December 1929
