<dc:title>Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Henry Clifton Sorby, Fellow of the Royal Society, Yacht "Glimpse", Orford, Wickham Market</dc:title>
  <dc:description>'Dear Mr Sorby,
Applications to the Scientific Relief Fund must come through the President of one of the following societies: - Royal, Astronomical, ^Chemical^, Linnean, Geological, Geographical, Zoological, Royal Society of Edinburgh, and Royal Irish Academy. If Mr Vine was a member of any of these societies, the President of that society must recommend the case; if not, you yourself, or someone who knows the case intimately, had better write to our President (Lord Kelvin), who is at present at: Netherhall, Largs, Ayrshire. If he approves the case, he will send it on to me.
I am, yours truly,
Herbert Rix
Asst. Sec. R.S. [Assistant Secretary, Royal Society]'. </dc:description>
