<dc:description>'Registered
Dear Sir,
Enclosed herewith please find two coloured plates. Have the goodness to send me an estimate for reproducing them in colour for the Proceedings of the Royal Society. I enclose an old proof-plate by way of pattern, as to size &c. The estimate is to include plate-paper and lettering, and is to be for 1500 copies of each plate.
I am, yours faithfully
Herbert Rix
Asst. Sec. R.S. [Assistant Secretary, Royal Society]

I am afraid plate 2 is too full. The figures must be brought nearer together'. </dc:description>
