<dc:title>Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Captain Gale, Royal Engineers Institute, Chatham</dc:title>
  <dc:description>'Dear Sir,
Apparently you are not aware that the "Philosophical Transactions" ['Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society'] are not sent to any institution or to any F.R.S. [Fellow of the Royal Society] except upon application. The only reason you have not had the volumes since 1887 is that you have never applied for them. After a lapse of five years volumes are forfeited. You are just within that time, and I will order your volumes to be sent to you at once.
Yours truly,
H Rix
Asst. Sec. R.S. [Assistant Secretary, Royal Society]'. </dc:description>
