'Dear Sir, In a letter from Mrs Bruce Joy dated December 11, 1890, we were informed that you were in America, and that the copy of the Davy Medal, which was made I believe by your desire and presented to you by the Royal Society, was to be kept here until your return, when it would be sent for.
