<dc:title>Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Michael Foster, Secretary, Royal Society</dc:title>
  <dc:description>'Sir,
Dr Gotch declines to report upon Dr Lazarus-Barlow's paper (which was sent to him on the 5th inst.) on the ground of being insufficiently acquianted with the literature of the subject. He is the second referee; Prof. Sanderson was the first. Can you suggest a third referee in Dr Gotch's place? We are suprised to see in the current number of the "Revue Generale des Sciences" a full print of the Croonian Lectures with figures. Perhaps you authorised this, but I cannot remember sending any excepting "Nature", "British Medical Journal" and the "Lancet". The report contains no mention of the Royal Society.
Yours truly,
H Rix
Asst. Sec. R.S. [Assistant Secretary, Royal Society]'. </dc:description>
