<dc:title>Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to John Potter Briscoe, Principal Librarian, Free Public Libraries, University College, Nottingham</dc:title>
  <dc:description>'Dear Sir,
I regret to say that I shall not be in town next Friday. I can see you between 11 and 4 on Thursday, or between 11 and 1 on Saturday. Any application you may please to send in to the Library Committee will be considered, but I cannot give you much hope that any grant to Free Public Libraries will be made, as this question has already been discussed and decided in the negative.
I am, yours faithfully,
H Rix
Asst. Sec. R.S. [Assistant Secretary, Royal Society]'. </dc:description>
