<dc:title>Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Dr Henry Hicks, Fellow of the Royal Society</dc:title>
  <dc:description>'Dear Sir,
In answer to your question put to me in the meeting room yesterday, a sum of £10 from the Donation Fund was granted to yourself to enable Mr. J. Lewis Abbott to continue his exploration of an ossiferous fissure near Ightham. I am sorry to say that our Treasurer is abroad, but I shall be able to send you this cheque in two or three weeks time. Trusting this will meet your convenience.
I am, yours truly,
H Rix
Asst. Sec. R.S. [Assistant Secretary, Royal Society]'.</dc:description>
