<dc:title>Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Michael Foster, [Royal Society]</dc:title>
  <dc:description>'Dear Sir,
Letter from Treasury very briefly and very decidedly refusing to grant any addition to the £4000. Inclosed herewith letter and pamphlet from Falmouth Observatory. You will probably submit the question immediate publication in present form to Prof [Professor Arthur] Rucker, but I thought I should not take the responsibility of doing so myself. If you are going to send us any longer statement of Prof. [Professor] Huxley's claims for the Darwin Medal, please let us have it. Inclosed herewith are Mr Staggemeier's letter and Prof. Green's report thereupon for which you ask.
Yours truly,
H Rix
Asst. Sec. R.S. [Assistant Secretary, Royal Society]'.</dc:description>
