Copy letter from Michael Foster, to W J Fletcher, Amhurst College Library, Amherst, Massachusetts, USA Foster has delayed sending a definite response to Fletcher's letters to Sir J H Gilbert, which were presented by him to Royal Society, as the possibility of a subject index to the 'Catalogue of Scientific Papers' has been under consideration, and that until recently a final decision had not been made. The Royal Society have since decided to publish such a subject index, and is already beginning work on the matter. 23 July 1894
