<dc:title>Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Lord Rayleigh [John William Strutt], [Royal Society]</dc:title>
  <dc:description>'My Lord,
I find that Mr [Joseph Norman] Lockyer's Proceedings ['Proceedings of the Royal Society'] paper on "B Lyrae" was not passed at the last meeting of the Committee of Papers, although it was read on June 21. I imagine this was either an accidental omission, or that there was not time to pass it, but I suppose there cannot be any objection to its being published in its place in the "Proceedings"? I enclosed the extract from Report on Prof. [Professor Charles Vernon] Boys's paper, and am getting estimate for the plates; also the 3 repts [reports] on Levy.
Yours truly,
Herbert Rix
Asst. Sec. R.S. [Assistant Secretary, Royal Society]'.</dc:description>
