Referee's report by John William Lubbock, on a paper 'On the physics of media that are composed of free and perfectly elastic molecules in a state of motion' by John James Waterston Not recommended for publication in Philosophical Transactions, as it is 'unfit'. This paper was eventually published in 1892, almost fifty years after these reports were made. The reason for this long delay is given in the abstract of the published paper - 'Most unfortunately the abstract printed at the time gave no adequate idea of the scope of the memoir, and still less of the nature of the results arrived at'..
