<dc:title>Referee's report by David Bruce, on a paper 'The production of a malarial type of South African horse sickness' by Alexander Edington</dc:title>
  <dc:description>Sectional Committee: not stated.

Not recommended for publication in Proceedings. The paper concludes that the parasite observed is a stage in the life history of the infective agent of horse sickness. However the author is dealing with a totally different disease, known to veterinary surgeons in South Africa as bilious fever or horse malaria, and the parasite he describes is the microorganism in the blood of the latter disease, 'Piroplasma equi', and not a stage in the development of the unknown horse sickness microorganism.
