Referee's report by Francis Darwin, on a paper 'Cultural experiments with 'Biologic Forms' of the Erysiphaceae' by Ernest S Salmon Sectional Committee: Botany Recommended for publication in Philosophical Transactions. The results are important and interesting. The paper would be improved by the omission of the author's hypothesis as to how injury alters the susceptibility of a leaf. There is no evidence for the hypotheses, and if retained it should be more briefly and tentatively given. [Published in the Philosophical Transactions B, 1905].
