<dc:title>Referee's report by William Napier Shaw, on a paper 'The vertical temperature gradient on the west coast of Scotland & at Oxshott: Surrey' by William Henry Dines</dc:title>
 <dc:description>Sectional Committee: Physics and Chemistry

Recommended for publication in Proceedings. The style of the paper does not fit well with the Transactions. However the paper may be regarded as the completion of a paper previously printed in Philosophical Transactions. The paper should be published in full but requires editing. The numbers for 1903 and 1904 in table A are not in accordance with the heading which is taken from a previous paper. The term 'gradient' is used in different senses in different tables. Abbreviations and signs in the diagrams and tables are not sufficiently explained. In one case the author's name is omitted from a reference. Both the figures should be reproduced.
