Referee's report by Francis Wall Oliver, on a paper 'The araucarieae, recent and extinct' by Albert Charles Seward and Sibille O Ford Sectional Committee: Botany Recommended for publication in Philosophical Transactions, in full. The paper is a valuable and opportune contribution to the pedigree of the Gymnosperms. In addition to the large mass of new and critical data brought forward the authors have included a welcome and critical epitome of much of the evidence which bears upon the matter. The case for Lycopodean as opposed to the filicentar[?] origin of the Araucarieae is argued with moderation and will be received with much interest.
