<dc:title>Referee's report by Hugh Frank Newall, on a paper 'The absorption spectra of the vapours of benzene and its homolognes, at different temperatures and pressures, and of solutions of benzene' by Walter Noel Hartley</dc:title>
  <dc:description>Sectional Committee: Physics and Chemistry

Recommended for publication in the 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society'. Suggestions for author supplied on separate sheet [not in file]. Considers the author's suggested use of colour in the line charts would give a false sense of importance to that line. Quotes Heinrich Johannes Gustav Kayser. Considers the use of tabular results to be unsuitable, and suggests a graphic representation might be preferable, but does not wish to dissuade the Society from publication of the paper.
