<dc:title>Referee's report by Robert Robinson, on a paper 'The reactivity of the sulphur linkage in animal fibres—Part I The chemical mechanism of permanent set' by J B Speakman</dc:title>
  <dc:description>Sectional Committee: Chemistry

Recommended for publication in the 'Proceedings of the Royal Society of London', if at all. The paper requires considerable shortening and clearer distinction between the experiment and the discussion. The non-technical parts should be omitted and published elsewhere. The techical parts are interesting, but the scientific conclusions are based on 'meagre evidence'. Finds the paper more suited to a technological journal such as the Journal of the Society of Chemical Industry.
