<dc:title>Referee's report by E A Moelwyn-Hughes, on a paper 'The base catalysed prototropy of substituted acetones' by Ronald Percy Bell and O M Lidwell</dc:title>
  <dc:description>Sectional committee: Chemistry

Recommended for publication in Proceedings. The point established is well made but the paper is too long. If could be halved in length without losing any of the substance. In its current form, the Journal of the Chemical Society may be a more appropriate place for it. If the paper can be condensed it could be published in Proceedings A. The substances of some of the tables have been summarised in other tables. The omission of some tables will strengthen the paper.

[Published in Proceedings of the Royal Society A, 1940].
