Referee's report by Edward Heron-Allen, on a paper 'Foraminifera from the green ammonite beds, lower lias, of Dorset' by W A Macfadyen Sectional committee: Zoology Recommended for publication in Philosophical Transactions. It is a important contribution to current literature on the subject. The author makes clear references to previous work in the subject and when he disagrees with them, he puts his case convincingly. He isn't a 'species-monger' which accounts for the lack of new forms described. For this, the reader will be 'profoundly grateful'.
