<dc:title>Letter from Alfred Charles Glyn Egerton, to James Chadwick, regarding a paper 'The absorption spectra of the cyclic dienes in the vacuum ultra-violet' by William Charles Price and Arthur Donald Walsh</dc:title>

Has read the paper and finds it suitable for publication. Suggests William Edward Curtis as a referee, although the subject is not his specialism. Therefore has shown the paper to Alfred Gordon Gaydon and R M B Pearse at Imperial College, London, who find the work good and the author, William Charles Price, reliable. They draw attention to a recent paper by Lucy W Pickett, Eleanor Paddock and Elinor Sackter ['The Ultraviolet Absorption Spectrum of 1,3-Cyclopentadiene', Journal of the American Chemical Society 1941, 63, 4, 1073-1077] which the authors may wish to comment upon, given the different interpretation of the results.
