<dc:title>Letter from David Keilin, to John David Griffith Davies, regarding a paper 'The effects of cold and colchicine on mitosis in the newt' by Horace Newton Barber and Harold Garnet Callan</dc:title>
  <dc:description>Sectional Committee: Zoology

Not recommended for publication in the 'Proceedings of the Royal Society of London'. Has seen the reports by James Gray and Harold Munro Fox. Finds that relevant literature is not mentioned fully. Refers to work of Albert Levan, Cyril Dean Darlington, L F La Cour, Walter Ernest Dixon, Dustin [?], A M Brues, A Cohen, John Desmond Bernal, Karl Franz Josef Belar and Ludford [?]. Suggests a more thorough introduction covering the historical literature would improve the paper. The effects discussed by the authors is interesting but not very original, and could be omitted. The paper would be improved by focussing on the investigations into colchicine. Suggests properly checking the references.
